Windscreen Tinting

Posted on July 4, 2012 at 8:15 AM
Not one of my favourite subjects,
Window Tinting is one of the favoured ways of making an average car look like something else. And for the budget minded it is also the cheapest. Certainly if you get it from us.
But there is a new dangerous wave on the coast that will cost money and lives of some of our younger and sometimes older drivers.
Tinting their windscreen, some coast businesses that should know better are tinting windscreens and asking to sign away your rights with a waiver.
To tint your windscreen is highly illegal and the reason is simple common sense. Window tint at night will reflect light from any source. Examples, dash lights, Nav man, cars behind, mobiles, interior lighting which will blind you.
With all windows tinted the amount of light entering the car is cut considerably which it is designed to do.
But this isn't the only problem. Insurance companies will not cover a vehicle or vehicles or property damaged in an accident which involved a vehicle with the windscreen tinted.
Now you may say well thats fine I don't have insurance. This is all damage.
A scenario, your car hit a child care centre you have a windscreen tinted. You cause $2,000,000 property damage. You will be sued for damages cause with no help from anyone. Imagine loosing your house, business, shares, super and any future because of one silly decision.
The safety of my customers is my priority and I wont put their lives in danger. And for those cowboys that are the $75000 fine associated with installing illegal tint shows just how serious this practise is.
